Ending Global Hunger Through Mobile: AppLift Supports ShareTheMeal

Have you ever thought about what you can do with just 50 cents? Probably not much, right? It turns out that with $0.50, you can feed one hungry child for one day. ShareTheMeal is a charity initiative supported by the United Nations' World Food Programme embarked on an important mission to end global hunger.

There are currently 20 million smartphone users in the World, 20 times more than hungry children. Through the ShareTheMeal app available on iOS and Android, it doesn't take more than two taps to share a meal and make a difference.

The app launched in Germany, Austria and Switzerland a few weeks ago and over 1.8 million meals have already been shared to help schoolchildren in Lesoto.

Today, ShareTheMeal is launching globally with the goal to provide school meals to 20,000 Syrian children refugees for a full year. The process is highly transparent: the destination of the proceeds is clearly indicated and the meals are distributed by the World Food Programme.
